QR codes

Not just for retail or banking!

What are they? Funny little black graphics appearing on all sorts of stuff lately, more commonly known as Quick Response codes. You can scan with an App on an iphone or with Smartphone technology.

You’ve probably seen them on Tesco ads, food packaging, printed ads, competition pages or on credit card and bank statements, but did you also know you can link a QR code to a Vcard, a web URL or just your Facebook page? You can even pop one on a webpage to save the link to a mobile phone for later…

You always have your phone with you right? but not necessarily a pen? Problem solved!

Great for bookmarking white papers, contact details or event information, even recipes.

If you’d like to give it a go… we have the technology. We’ve just helped Urban Eat launch their ‘Win Student Fees’ campaign (incidentally – a great competition if you know any students struggling with fees) using QR codes on all their POS and promotional tools. Scan and see for yourself we’ve pasted the code below.

We’re using i-nigma to scan. You can download it to your phone at: www.i-nigma.com or get it through the itunes store.

What you could be thinking about…

QR code as a Christmas or New Year greeting. Interactive and a bit different from the usual emailed greetings or animation. Its now so easy to combine offline with digital marketing.

Creation of the QR codes is a free service we offer to all our clients as part of the artwork process. All you need is a URL to link to (and we can of course help you with that too). Speak to Sue on 01908 7111 80
